THE NUT GATHERERS- Alessandra and Laura Ferreira 8E

“The Nut Gatherers” was painted in 1882, by William-Adolphe Bouguereau. He was born in French, in 1825 and died in 1905.
The portrait is of two young girls, sitting on the ground in the woods. They represent intimacy, trust ...
We think that the girl holding the nuts has a look of insecurity or sadness, but in the same time she is grateful that the other girl is there with her. The face of the blond one has a little smile, not of joy, but understanding...
We feel touched, because they seem to have a sincere, trustworthy friendship, and that´s beautiful, because nowadays there are many false friends, with no affection, no understanding, or the person just does not care about the other. This painting is beautiful, realistic, graceful…
The strengths of the painting: clothing, hair
The weekness: hands, nuts
We would show it to others, because is a great work of art, and sometimes works of art aren´t well known, and we think this should be appreciated.
“The Nut Gatherers” is a beautiful and realistic work of art, painted by William-Adolphe Bouguereau, in 1822, about two girls sharing her feelings, representing intimacy and trust.
