American Gothic
American gothic is an artwork by Grant Wood. He was born in february 13, 1891
in four miles east of Anamosa, Iowa. It was painted in 1930, the artwork is about “the kind of people I fancied should live in that house”.
We think the painting reminds of a sad, conservative and boring couple. The strength is that the artwork is very expressive, and we can imagine the life of the characters, the weakness are the trees, that aren`t as real as the rest of it.
Our final opinion is that just the look of the couple can touch who see it.
WOW this is a awesome representation! You guys made the best living picture I ever seen... Thank you for giving me the chance to appreciate your work!
